Portfolio and Stage-Gate Systems
MCE-OPD-C-ZMPSGS
Description
Product portfolio management is an attempt to balance risk and return on investment (ROI). That is accomplished by selecting a certain number of projects that have a high probability of success but moderate ROI, others with a low probability of success but very high ROI and some in the mid-range. That balancing act is usually aided by expected value rather than net present value. After the projects go into the pipeline, the Stage-Gate® system is used to track them from concept to completion, with decisions made at each gate about whether to continue, add funding or cancel a project. This seminar will deal with all of the finer points of developing products.
