Dental Outreach Program

What is the Wisdom Tooth program?

The Wisdom Tooth Program is a free dental educational outreach program sponsored by NC State University and the Upper Coastal Plain Learning Council (UCPLC). The program serves ages three and up in the five counties of Edgecombe, Halifax, Nash, Northampton and Wilson. Using age appropriate books, puppets, posters and handouts, the program teaches how to take care of your teeth and explains why it is important.

Why is there a Wisdom Tooth program?

The Wisdom Tooth Program exists to address the critical need for early oral health education among preschool children in northeastern North Carolina. By offering free educational resources and dental supplies, NC State University and UCPLC aim to instill good oral hygiene habits from a young age. This initiative helps prevent dental issues and promotes overall health in the community.
